A:
Article 1
The course exemption is to advance the international students’ Chinese language proficiency at all levels.
Article 2
Applicants: international students who meet one of the followings are encouraged to apply for exemption for Chinese as a Second Language Courses (I), (II), (III), (IV) or (V), a maximum of 10 credits.
a. International students who have taken the Huayu tests held by Steering Committee, and are issued with certificates at the level of Band A of both Listening and Reading tests.
b.Before entering YunTech, international students who have taken Chinese courses in other educational institutions, and pass the post-tests (listed in Article 5) held by the Language Center.
Article 3
Application Deadline: Stipulated by the Language Center

How to apply: applicants shall go to the Language Center and apply in person with their application forms and documents in the 1st week of each semester.
Article 5
Principles for reviewing exemption are as follows:
a. First review: The Language Center will evaluate the applicants by reviewing the documents. Qualified applicants will be allowed to exempt Chinese as a Second Language courses (I) to (V).
b.Second review:
1.Method: International students have to take either writing or oral tests in Chinese.
2.Course exemption: The results will be given by the Chinese instructors
Article 6
The course exemption shall be implemented after being approved by the Office of Academic Affairs meeting and the president of YunTech; the same procedure applies to all amendments.
